Wild Ones
Nature, Sensory, and Play Gatherings
We’ve brought a piece of our home, Australia, with us. Our passion for immersing ourselves in nature and the understanding that unstructured play outdoors is fundamental to a full and healthy childhood. The time we spent outside in the bush as kids with our family allowed us to develop a love and passion for animals, our environment, and our enthusiasm for sustainability.
Wild Ones was born from the desire to connect with others amongst nature and to share our passion and understanding of unstructured and open-ended play. It is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to Early Childhood Education. Held on the beautiful grounds of Bittersweet Farm Estate, Wild Ones offers nature-based play and sensory experiences. We believe that adults can be co-learners in the process of guiding and scaffolding children's interests, nurturing our little ones with the support they need to grow and develop strong foundations while fostering a love for nature.
Our vision for Wild Ones is more than another play space, it is creating a space for children and families to cultivate a sense of belonging in our community while nurturing future generations' love for the world around them through mindfully curated play experiences that support child-led inquiry and learning while being immersed in nature. It will be up to the participants to connect through invitations of play, self-led and facilitated. Embracing the opportunities on offer while leaving room for imagination, creativity, and curiosity. Empowering children to play their way.
Our play gatherings are appropriate for various age groups, run in all weather, and each session is designed and guided by an experienced Early Childhood Education professional.
